This particular store has two rooms, one that stocks standard second-hand clothing while the other stocks rare 1960s style vintage garments. Given that there are a vast number of Humana shops in Barcelona, I have opted to recommend three of my favorite stores. The money raised by the shops is donated to charitable development projects in Sub Saharan Africa, South America, and Asia. The shop’s reasonable prices and the charitable ethos of the enterprise do however make one feel slightly less guilty about walking in for a harmless browse and walking out with a bag overflowing with antiquated treasures.Īt the core of the organization is the concept of ‘used clothing for sustainability’ and in a modern world where the fashion industry is responsible for approximately ten percent of all greenhouse gas emissions, recycling clothes has become more important than ever. ![]() ![]() It is impossible to visit a neighborhood in Barcelona without stumbling across a handful of ‘Humana’ stores, making it is a dangerous city for a thrift shop junkie such as myself.
